100Km CMRR Rules and Information
Every member of every team is responsible for reading the following pages before the race and following the rules on them.
Race bibs: Wear bibs in front, have them on at all times.
Prepare vehicle: Most important: full gas tank, well-functioning brakes. Note steep downhills described in course narrative above.
Self-sufficiency: Have coolers with ice, water, Gatorade, easily digestible food for the day, and picnic food for afterward, cups, litter bag. There are grocery stores in Phoenicia, Big Indian, and Grahamsville. Stay cool and drink before you are thirsty.
Plan on portable facilities: Port-a-trees and port-a-rocks. BYOTP.
Decide on leg assignments. Any relay order is acceptable if each team member runs at least one complete relay leg. On mixed teams, at least four of the ten relay legs must be run by women.
Race morning: Team captain needs to hand in Final team roster, pick up T-shirts, race bibs and pins. Don't plan to leave extra vehicles in Phoenicia unless you want to drive another half hour to get back to them.
All runners need to help with the following:
Runners must run on the left shoulder when on Route 28 or risk disqualification. It is a safety hazard to run on the right side of 55 mph Route 28. The course is routed through Phoenicia to come out onto the left side of Route 28 so that runners won't cross over Route 28. Police have been contacted so they can patrol Route 28 to slow down cars.
Exchange areas Exchange runners by slapping hands at CMRR exchange areas marked with white line across road. Exchanging elsewhere makes a team ineligible for awards.
CMRR Split Time Sheet has timing instructions and applicable rules.
Awards and picnic: After official timing ends and results are processed, awards will be given out. There are showers, bathrooms and a swimming pool at the finish at Davis Park in West Shokan (small fee for use).
